Challenging but successful surgery

ee this pre-operative picture sent by @dr_nima_sadeghi of an Orbital blowout fracture due to trauma.
This case is referred to as Zygomaticomaxillary complex (ZMC) fracture, which in this case includes the fractures of the inferior orbital rim and maxillary sinus walls.
You can see the crushed orbital bone after exposing the site with subciliary incision approach. ZMC fractures are the second most common facial bone fracture after nasal bone injuries.
The fracture complex results from a direct blow to the malar eminence and results in three distinct fracture components that disrupt the anchoring of the Zygoma.
A postoperative picture following fixation will come soon.

Heart dissection revealing a beautiful look inside that machine, exposing the chambers along with chordae tendinae which are attached to papillary muscles.

No, That's not an open fracture, that's Marc Clancy's (@powdah) SFX hand makeup! Crazy huh?
He's a graphic designer from Melbourne, taught himself SFX makeup and specializes in hand and facial traumas, which he is sickeningly good at.

Super interesting case sent by @dr_nima_sadeghi , a superficial parotidectomy for pleomorphic adenoma.
This young lady had a slow growing and multiple nodular mass on the right side of her face. Where were no signs of pain, tenderness or paresthesia, as well as no sign of infection in needle aspiration. The tumor can be see in the MRI imaging. After performing FNA (fine-needle aspiration biopsy), the mass has been diagnosed as a pleomorphic adenoma, a benign and common salivary gland neoplasm, characterised by neoplastic proliferation of parenchymatous glandular cells along with myoepithelial components. The surgical treatment was a superficial parotidectomy with preservation of the facial nerve.

Surgical reconstruction of the Achilles' tendon!
Achilles repair or reconstruction following a rupture or any kind of trauma is usually performed under general anaesthetic. The surgeon makes an incision (cut) in the back of the leg just above the ankle. Then, locate the damaged tendon and bring the ends together using stitches. If the damage warrants, the surgeon may need to reinforce the tendon with a graft from another tendon in the body. Finally, closing the wound using stitches or staples and apply a temporary cast.

Intestinal ischemia occur when blood flow to the bowel or gastrointestinal system (intestines) is decreased because of a blood vessel blockage.
The three major abdominal blood vessels that may become blocked include the celiac artery, superior mesenteric artery or inferior mesenteric artery.
Symptoms can vary from severe abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, to bloody stools.
The diagnosis can be confirmed by an angiogram of the blocked vessels, x-Ray and abdominal CT scan. An arteriogram is an invasive test of the blood vessels in which dye is injected and x-ray pictures are obtained.
Emergency surgery may be performed to remove the blood clot (embolectomy) or bypass the blocked vessel and restore blood flow to the intestines. The surgeon may use autologous bypass grafts (patient’s own blood vessels) or artificial grafts. The surgeon may need to remove a portion of the intestine if tissue death has occurred.
